Anne Musisi

Anne Musisi was a self-taught mixed-media artist whose work was often self-reflective, tapping into her life experiences and environment as inspiration to create free from rules and conformity. Her reflections often channel difficult and painful experiences and transform them into opportunities for rebirth. Anne believed that something unique can always be created from what others do not value.

She closed her residency at 32° East with an exhibition titled “Outside In” which looked at how we relate our senses to the elements of earth, air, fire and water. She created installations and works using water and earth, drawing inspiration from how Ugandans use and feel these materials.
