Makumbi Allan is a Ugandan artist-curator and historian based in Kampala, Uganda. His practice is mainly influenced by the socio-economic, political, and cultural elements of our local and global community and how they shape behavioural patterns. Themes explored in his work, like disability, poverty, and family man are his daily observations and reactions interpreted in art forms to spark conversations and reflection.
Makumbi is part of the Instructors-In-Residence program where he is dedicating 15 hours a week to instruction while also continuing a body of work. Makumbi is focusing on clay and ceramics. You can book a class with Makumbi now at bit.ly/32IIRClass
