Makumbi Allan is a Ugandan artist-curator and historian based in Kampala, Uganda. His practice is mainly influenced by the socio-economic, political, and cultural elements of our local and global community and how they shape behavioural patterns. Themes explored in his work, like disability, poverty, and family man are his daily observations and reactions interpreted in art forms to spark conversations and reflection.
Makumbi was part of the Instructors-In-Residence program where he dedicated 15 hours a week to instruction while also continuing a body of work. Makumbi focused on clay and ceramics.
