Mirembe Musisi is a permaculturalist and visual artist living and working in Kampala. Her work interrogates the interconnectivity between people and earth; designing installations, interactions and experiences to document patterns of the natural process. She received a BA studying Human Geography at the University of Leicester before returning home to Uganda to unlearn, and engage more contextually through diverse projects.
During her 2015 residency at 32°East, Mirembe led several interactive community interventions and installations that encouraged participants to reflect on their relationship with nature, plants, and food. Her interventions included: Made in Dewe, Food Forest, Grafting, Here We Like Food, To Build To Grow and Stumbling Across a Moon.
