Ogwang Jimmy John

Ogwang Jimmy John is a conceptual Ugandan visual artist who creates interactive installations. He studied a BA in Arts & Industrial Design at Kyambogo University and graduated in 2010. He participated in the 2013 Laba! Arts Festival, Dance in the City, a photography exhibition at UNCC, the 2013 Bayimba International Festival of the Arts. He also participated in the 2014 LaBa! Arts Festival in Kisimenti. 

During his 2013 residency at 32° East, he experimented with sound, space, walking, pictures and light. He uses his installations to interact with the public and he uses their interpretations as inspiration for future works. Through this residency, he created the “Sound Room”.
