Vita Malulu

Vita Malulu is a Tanzanian painter, printmaker, musician and dancer from Nafasi Art Space. He studied art from 2003-06 at the Bagamoyo College of Art, now called Tasuba. Malulu paints both realistic and abstract. His subjects come from photos and images from the street that he feels attracted to.Malulu plays in Tupo Kama Hatupo / Present As Absent.

 

During his residency at 32° East, Malulu experimented with wire sculptures made from recycled plastic materials. His exhibition, Chasing the Tail, which explores how corruption gets in the way of a society or nation achieving more. In his words, “We are dealing with corruption, but it’s like chasing the tail. We need to know where the head is.”
