Lionel Garang

Lionel Garang is a graffitti aritist from Nairobi. He was born in Kenya and started his career as a painter. He was later introduced to sculpture which he fully embraced developing sculptures from fiber mart, resin, wood and metal. Garang has participated in several group exhibitions and had his work published in the Kenya Art Diary and the Nairobi ‘Up’ lifestyle magazine. He makes sculptures using fibreglass and resin.

During his residency at 32° East, Garang used nylon sackcloth and stencils to carefully blend an array of spray paints and give iconic imagery and common scenes new life.
