Mohammed Altaj is a filmmaker and photographer who specialises in visual journalism and has worked with several channels and producers before and after the war in Sudan. Since 2022, he has partnered with Dialectic Films as a film trainer for youth development projects and has worked on local entertainment programs. Between 2019 and 2020, he was one of the organisers of the Taharqa Festival, a youth cinema festival in Sudan. In 2020, he co-founded Dub Production House.
Mohammed Altaj is working on a short film for his residency and is developing photography that tells the story of Sudan. Half the images comprise the “beauty gallery” that explores the aesthetic language of Sudan. The other half of the images tell the story of the revolution. His photographic style is influenced by his background in engineering.
محمد التاج هو مخرج سينمائي ومصور متخصص في الصحافة المرئية، وعمل مع العديد من القنوات والمنتجين قبل وبعد الحرب في السودان. منذ عام ٢٠٢٢م، دخل في شراكة مع Dialectic Films كمدرب سينمائي لمشاريع تنمية الشباب وعمل في برامج ترفيهية محلية. بين عامي ٢٠١٩ و٢٠٢٠م، كان أحد منظمي مهرجان تهارقا، وهو مهرجان سينمائي للشباب في السودان. وفي عام ٢٠٢٠م، شارك في تأسيس شركة Dub Production House.
يعمل محمد التاج على فيلم قصير لإقامته ويقوم بتطوير التصوير الفوتوغرافي الذي يحكي قصة السودان. نصف الصور عبارة عن “معرض الجمال” الذي يستكشف اللغة الجمالية للسودان. والنصف الآخر من الصور يحكي قصة الثورة. يتأثر أسلوبه في التصوير الفوتوغرافي بخلفيته في الهندسة.
